Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level

This course prepares students for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE (Ordinary Level) examinations. GCE ‘O’ Level is the entry requirement for admission to the prestigious Junior Colleges and Polytechnics in Singapore. GCE ‘O’ Level is also a highly regarded qualification for entry into various foundation courses in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and many other countries. We recommend students take 7 subjects if they are taking this examination for the first time.

Programme Duration

16 months or 24 months (Extended)

Classes are held Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (inclusive of recess and lunch break).

Admission Requirements

Students must be 15 years old or above of age as of 1^st January of the examination year.

Students must have completed Year 9 or its equivalent in their respective countries. Students who are enrolling into the Extended programme must have completed Year 8 or its equivalent in their respective countries.

International students are strongly advised to have English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS/TOEFL iBT score of 5.5/70.

Application Closing Date: 4 weeks before course commencement.

Mode of Delivery

Lectures, interactive tutorials, paired or group learning, practical science lessons, drills and other interactive activities that are in line with the current best practices to support students’ learning.

Attendance Criteria

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority requires Student’s Pass holders to maintain an attendance of at least 90%. Students who attend at least 75% of lessons are eligible for a Certificate of Attendance.

Assessment / Examination

Monthly progress tests are conducted as well as a Preliminary examination before the actual GCE ‘O’ level examination.

Educational Pathway

A GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate with 6 ‘O’ Level passes (including English Language) would enable students to meet the general academic entry requirements of many Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education, Diploma, and other equivalent institutions not only in Singapore but also in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, USA, and New Zealand. Admission into these institutions is at the sole discretion of the individual institutions.
