Cyber Hygiene

In today’s digital age, where we rely on technology for almost everything, it is more important than ever to maintain good cyber hygiene practices. Cyber hygiene refers to the practices and measures taken to ensure the security and safety of digital devices, networks, and data. In this course, we will discuss why cyber hygiene is crucial and some key practices to follow.

Upon completion, individuals will be aware of the potential risks of cyber threats and equipped with the skills necessary to take appropriate actions to resolve them. Additionally, they will appreciate the benefits of cyber hygiene and recognise the value of implementing it into their daily routines.

Our cyber hygiene curriculum was customised and developed in partnership with Intraedge (https://intraedge.com/) using top cybersecurity professionals in the industry. The focus is to upskill individuals and teams on:

  • How to work with sensitive data
  • How to protect information
  • Bring awareness to the rise of cybercrimes
  • Identity best practices in deterring cyberattacks

This comprehensive program will educate individuals on the guidelines needed to foresee potential security risks created in their daily activities and implement safety measures to protect both personal and company data.

Topics include:

  • Password management and creating strong passwords
  • Online safety and avoiding scams, phishing and social engineering
  • Managing privacy settings on social media and other online platforms
  • Keeping software and devices up to date with the latest security patches
  • Identifying and reporting suspicious activity
  • Understanding and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR

Learners are expected to be:

• Age of 21 years and above
• Have basic computer literacy level 2
• English proficiency level equivalent to Grade C5 of GCE ‘O’ Level English; or
• Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) and Workplace Numeracy (WPN) at Level 5.
