CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL ADVANCED LEVEL
SSTC International Academy aims to maximise learners’ potential, enabling them to become well-rounded individuals ready for the next phase of their academic journey.
At the Pre-University level, SSTC International Academy offers a two-year academic programme leading to the Cambridge International Advanced Level qualification. Cambridge Assessment International Education prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. Cambridge Assessment International Education is part of the University of Cambridge.
The Cambridge International A Level syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent learning and critical thinking skills – abilities that universities value highly. This qualification is taken by over 175,000 learners in nearly 130 countries every year. They are typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for higher education.
The International A Level qualification is designed for students worldwide, including those whose first language is not English. Assessment takes place at the end of the course, and gives students a variety of ways to show their knowledge and skills.
Thousands of students use Cambridge International A Level every year to gain places at leading universities worldwide, including the UK, US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. All UK universities and over 500 US universities accept Cambridge International A Level qualifications, including Harvard, MIT, Stanford and Yale. In places such as the US and Canada, good grades in carefully chosen Cambridge International A Level subjects can result in up to one year of university course credit. A unique feature of SSTC International Academy’s Curriculum is the inclusion of the Character & Lifeskills Education programme that aims to mould our students into becoming individuals of sound character, having essential lifeskills that will strengthen their resilience, equipping them with the knowledge and competencies in becoming leaders in their own right.
2 Years
Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, with breaks (excluding Co-Curricular Activities, which will be conducted weekly for a minimum of 1.5 hours per session)
There are three terms in one Academic Year.
- Term 1: October – January
- Term 2: February – June
- Term 3: July – September
Lectures, Problem-Based Learning, interactive tutorials, paired or group learning, practical science lessons, and other interactive activities that are in line with current best practices to support students’ learning.
The course is 100% externally assessed by Cambridge Assessment International Education.
There are two examination periods in a year: June and November. Results are issued in August and January.
The Cambridge International A Level is reported on a grade scale from A* (highest) to E (minimum required performance). There is no A* grade for Cambridge International AS Levels, which run from grade A to E.
RECOMMENDED AGE: 16 years old as of 31st December of the Year 1 Academic Year.
ACADEMIC: Completion of Year 10 or equivalent qualifications.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE: International students whose last two years of education were not conducted in English will have to PASS SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.
Students who complete their course of study and meeting the attendance requirement will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
Students who PASS at least one International A Level subject will be awarded a Certificate by Cambridge Assessment International Education.

Character & Lifeskills Education is integrated in lessons and activities.
All students need to attend at least 75% of classes. Students’ Pass holders are required to maintain an attendance of 90% and above to meet the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority requirement.
