ADOPT DESIGN THINKING APPROACH TO ACHIEVEMENT OF BUSINESS RESULTS
This course was designed to provide a suite of design thinking modules that are aligned with the design thinking principles. It is targeted for individuals who are employed in organisations who need to rethink the way they manage people by taking on a human-centred approach to management and supervision. The intent is to create a new pool of workforce who takes on human-centred approaches in designing work processes and tasks for their own department/team.

At the end of this course, learners would guide team leaders in the development and implementation of team plans to meet business objectives. It also includes managing team performance to achieve business results and rewarding team performance. It also includes coaching of team leaders to help them develop their skills and gain confidence. A competent individual will be able to perform the following after completing this course:

With reference to the Future of Jobs Report 4 under the World Economic Forum, this section will elaborate on the need to focus on the future skills and future jobs in the world, highlighting the changing job landscape of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
- Develop understanding of performance management in organisations
This section aims to provide a general understanding of performance management in organisations.
- Develop personal role and an “intrapreneur” in performance management
This section aims to empower the learner to take up a more important role in the organisation through more effective leaders.
- Develop performance management approaches for teams and individuals
This section aims to introduce performance management approaches for teams and individuals, its objectives, processes and tools.
- Create the “intraprenuership” mindset at the workplace
This section aims to motivate the learner to take on a larger role within his existing job position and to be an intrapreneur and bring his/her own organisation to the next level.
- Apply design thinking in Performance Management
This section aims to provide the basic understanding and concepts of design thinking specifically in the areas of principles, tools and processes for implementing design thinking.
- Develop journey map for organisational projects
This section aims to introduce the persona of an individual staff within a project team.
- Develop performance management approaches for teams and individuals I
This section aims to synthesise the research and the ideas of the learners and create new ideas that may potentially address the touchpoints being identified.
- Develop performance management approaches for teams and individuals II
This section aims to synthesise the research and the ideas of the learners and create new ideas that may potentially address the touchpoints being identified.
- Evaluate performance management approach
This section covers the evaluation of the approach that each team had come up with.
- Adopt continuous professional development in performance management
In this section, learners are introduced to the concept of continuous development to remain competent and be able to contribute as an intrapreneur for the organisation.

Assumed Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Attitude
Participants are assumed to:
- Hold (or have held) positions of Managers or with Supervisory capacityrole for at least 6 months over the last 3 years
- Possess at least a GCE ‘N’ Levels or equivalent
- Be able to read, write and speak in English (WLPN Level 6 and above)
Knowledge:
- Be able to explain business operations and its difficulties in a company
Skills:
- Be able to manage employees in accordance with prevailing government legislations
- Be able to plan, implement and manage projects at the workplace
During the course application, applicants who do not fully meet the entry requirements, will be subject to a counselling session with the customer service executive.
If the applicant would still like to proceed with their enrolment into the course, he/she will have to sign on the counselling form that they are aware of the requirements and commit to personally put in extra efforts to close the gap (e.g. pairing up with their colleague–where available, etc.)
