COURSE INFORMATION
Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management
The SSTC Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management (DTHM) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the knowledge required as a professional in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Upon Completion and having passed the necessary examinations, students can proceed to the BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management and thereafter, do a one-year top-up degree programme with many U.K. Universities. Please check the Edexcel BTEC website for more details.
Objective
The broad range of modules is designed to provide students, a comprehensive, solid, in-depth understanding of the knowledge required as professional personnel in the tourism and hospitality business.

Programme Structure
12 months (Full Time)
Students will study on average 2 course units at a time, over 8 weeks.
There will be an examination and marking week, per term.
Full-time students will have 3 hours of contact time a day from Mondays to Fridays. Contact hours consist of lectures, tutorials, group discussions, project meetings, etc.
Mode Of Delivery
The course will be face-to-face lecture, which may include discussions of case studies, presentations, completion of individual or group written assignments.
Admission Criteria
16 years and above with GCE ‘O’ Level, Year 11 or equivalent and English proficiency of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
OR
21 years and above with relevant working experience
Graduation Criteria
Students must pass all 8 modules to be awarded the Diploma
Attendance Criteria
All students need to attend at least 75% of classes and to be eligible for a certificate of attendance.
Students’ Pass holders are required to maintain an attendance of 90% and above to meet the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority requirement.

Educational Pathway
Holders of the DTHM award can proceed to the BTEC Level 5 HND in Hospitality Management programme offered by SSTC.
